Living in locations such as Vancouver, BC (known as Hollywood North), Manhattan, and Toronto, has allowed me the great opportunity to work with many fabulous film makers. I am extremely passionate about film composition, have worked on several projects for films, and commercials, and have received the SOCAN awards for audio-visual composers three times. While I do occasionally write works involving digital instruments, all my film compositions have so far been entirely acoustic, as I believe strongly in the quality of real acoustic performances and recordings (as opposed to samples or computer-generated sounds).
Below, you may hear a sample of my work, for which I composed the music, and played the piano. Shade of Grey is a short documentary by Miles Jay Robison, which was the winner of the Oasis HD Award for The Best Documentary at the Young Cuts Festival in Montreal. It was awarded the First Prize for its music by the SOCAN foundation.
