Solar Seethe

Pierrot + Percussion: Flute, Clarinet, Violin, Cello, Piano, Percussion (Xylophone, Vibraphone, Tenor Drum, Snare Drum, Suspended Cymbal, Crotales, Triangle)

Programme Notes

Warm glittering rays of light, in seething clouds of gas, radiant shimmers, and blinding blaze, an opening in the dark curtain of the sky, bestowing life with a light from beyond, the sun can encapsulate a wide range of states and Solar Seethe portrays its varied faces. Seemingly constant and primal, the sun inspires a rich palette of poetic symbolism. As the unblinking, all-seeing eye of the universe, it has at times been as sacred as a god, and feared for its wrath.
