Iman Habibi’s Offering of Water, a piece co-commissioned by Lucia Lin, Elation Pauls, and the Gabriela Lena Frank Creative Academy of Music as part of Composing Earth, received its premiere at Tanglewood’s Ozawa Hall on July 7th, 2023 with violinist Lucia Lin and the composer at the piano.
Inspired by a Zoroastrian prayer, Offering of Water is about 11 minutes in duration and in five movements, and is a reminder of our once sacred relationship with water.
