“Today’s most celebrated classical saxophonist TIMOTHY McALLISTER is an acclaimed soloist, soprano chair of the GRAMMY® winning PRISM Quartet, and champion of contemporary music credited with over fifty recordings and two hundred premières of new compositions by eminent and emerging composers worldwide. McAllister has appeared with more than forty of the world’s most prominent orchestras in over twenty countries, from the Chicago Symphony
Orchestra to the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the Proms.
As guest soloist, other recent engagements include the symphonies of Albany, Buffalo, Detroit, Houston, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Seattle, St. Louis, among many others.
A widely-respected teacher of his instrument, McAllister is Professor of Saxophone at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance, and he appears at summer festivals and courses worldwide. He holds degrees from the University of Michigan, having studied with legendary saxophonist, Donald Sinta”
“Liz Ames is revered globally as a premier collaborative pianist, specializing in the most innovative wind and chamber repertoire while embracing projects with a wide variety of artists and ensembles. Her passion for performing and working with composers is evident in her contributions to albums by top instrumentalists worldwide, with over 50 commissions and world premieres accredited to her.
Recent concert engagements include solo appearances with the Grand Rapids Symphony and the Grand Rapids Ballet, as well as performances with the Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings.
She has also partnered with notable artists such as flutist Amy Porter, tubist David Zerkel, trombonist Hana Beloglavic, and her duo partner, three-time GRAMMY-winning saxophonist, Timothy McAllister.
Ames completed her doctorate at Arizona State University and currently serves on the collaborative piano staff at the University of Michigan.”
