Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, led by Maestro Ken-David Masur, is performing Habibi’s Jeder Baum spricht on three performances between Nov. 4-6, 2022.

In an ode to the wonder of our natural world, this program reflects on fate, resolve, and reverence. Contemporary composer Iman Habibi’s Jeder Baum spricht (“every tree speaks,” taken from Beethoven’s writings) is a reflection of our world’s environmental crisis. Schumann’s symphony is a celebration of spring and renewal. In the second half, the Milwaukee Symphony Chorus takes the spotlight in three choral works moving through grim fatalism, hopeful spirit, and rollicking celebration.

Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra Performs Jeder Baum spricht (Canadian Premiere)

Iman Habibi’s Jeder Baum spricht will receive its Canadian premiere with Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra.

Rising star maestro Nicolas Ellis makes his long awaited SSO debut in an unforgettable night of iconic music.

Beethoven’s 5th Symphony has stopped audiences in their tracks since its premiere. Timelessly arresting and bursting with passion and energy, the 5th Symphony bursts open with the four most memorable notes in all of music. Paired with the work is Jeder Baum spricht by Iranian-Canadian composer Iman Habibi. The work is inspired by the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth.

Saskatoon pianist Jerry Hu won the 2021 Saskatchewan Music Festival Shurniak Concerto Competition, and now he makes his SSO debut with Beethoven’s 3rd Piano Concerto.

The Philadelphia Orchestra presents a pre-season celebration of Beethoven with Iman Habibi’s Beethoven-inspired Jeder Baum spricht and Beethoven’s iconic Fifth Symphony—heard on the Orchestra’s historic March 12, 2020, live-streamed performance at the onset of the pandemic. Yannick and the Orchestra invite audiences to experience this performance in Verizon Hall, which also includes Beethoven’s delightful and high-spirited First Symphony.

After more than a year of closures enforced by the COVID-19 pandemic, Carnegie Hall is reopening its doors to live audiences on October 6th, 2021 with The Philadelphia Orchestra and Maestro Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Iman Habibi’s orchestral composition, Jeder Baum spricht, will be on the programme alongside Valerie Coleman‘s Seven O’Clock Shout, Beethoven’s 5th Symphony, and Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Piano Concerto performed by pianist Yuja Wang.

Boston Symphony Orchestra, led by Andris Nelsons, will perform Iman Habibi’s Jeder Baum spricht on Sunday, July 25th (this will be a live performance) at Tanglewood Music Festival in Lenox, MA! Also on the programme are Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with Yefim Bronfman as the soloist, and Schumann’s Symphony No. 4.

On March 12, 2020, Yannick Nézet-Séguin and The Philadelphia Orchestra performed its BeethovenNOW: Symphonies 5 & 6 program to an empty Verizon Hall, sharing a live broadcast with listeners across the globe—just before the City of Philadelphia’s impending shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

One year later, we invite you to join us for a rebroadcast of this now-historic performance, dedicated to those who lost their lives due to the pandemic. This special presentation is available free of charge on the Orchestra’s Digital Stage.

Ticket holders will be invited to participate in a live pre-concert conversation and Q&A with Yannick Nézet-Séguin and Orchestra President and CEO Matías Tarnopolsky on Friday, March 12, 2021, at 7:30 PM ET.
